A horrifying terror attack has rocked Pakistan’s Balochistan region on Sunday after militants targeted a passenger train in a coordinated strike, leaving at least 30 people dead and more than 100 others seriously injured, according to initial reports.
Authorities said the attack took place when armed assailants ambushed the train in a remote stretch, opening fire and triggering chaos among passengers. Rescue operations are underway as security forces rush to the site amid fears the death toll may rise further.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic, bloodshed, and desperate attempts by survivors to escape the wreckage. Several carriages were heavily damaged in the assault.
Security agencies have launched a massive search operation in the surrounding areas, while no group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
The incident has once again exposed the fragile security situation in the volatile Balochistan region, which has witnessed repeated militant violence in recent years.
