Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared a glimpse of his quiet morning routine on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, revealing a personal and affectionate moment with his animal companions before leaving for the Red Fort.
In a video shared on social media, Modi is seen feeding grains to peacocks and offering food to cows at his official residence. The Prime Minister described the animals as his “friends” and said feeding them every morning is part of his daily routine.
“Special, as always,” Modi wrote while sharing the glimpse of his morning. The video offered a rare look at the Prime Minister’s quieter moments before he took centre stage at the Red Fort for his Independence Day address.
The personal moment came before Modi delivered his 13th consecutive Independence Day speech from the Red Fort. During the address, he outlined his vision for a developed India by 2047 and spoke about several major national priorities, including self-reliance, youth, technology and economic growth.
The video quickly drew attention online, with the contrast between the Prime Minister’s calm interaction with animals and the grandeur of the national Independence Day celebrations becoming one of the softer, more personal moments surrounding the August 15 event.Modi also recalled a touching moment from the morning of August 15.
According to his post, the peacocks and cows appeared to realise that he was leaving earlier than usual for the Independence Day celebrations and came to meet him before his departure for the Red Fort.
