Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the South Central Railway Vijayawada Division conducted a guided media tour to introduce the Tuna Railway Station, which has been redeveloped at a cost of ₹19.13 crores.
The station features a premium air-conditioned waiting hall, modular toilets, improved booking offices, stainless steel seating, and drinking water facilities.
Additionally, facilities for the differently-abled have been provided, including tactile pathways, ramps, accessible toilets, and designated parking. High-level platforms, improved shelters, parking, two foot over bridges, lifts, CCTV, coach display boards, and digital train information systems have enhanced passenger convenience. Furthermore, environmental initiatives such as an 80-kilowatt solar power system and energy-saving lighting have also been implemented.
A statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju has also been installed to reflect the local heritage.
Officials stated that the Tuna Station, which serves 42 trains and approximately 10,000 passengers daily under the NSG-3 category, has become a more modern, safe, and passenger-friendly hub with this redevelopment.
