The Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway (SCR) observed National Public Relations Day with the launch of its Annual PR Calendar for the financial year 2026–27 at the DRM Conference Hall on Tuesday. The programme was attended by Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Shri P. E. Edwin as the chief guest, along with senior officials, branch heads, staff, and public relations coordinators from various departments. Public Relations Officer Ms. Nusrat M. Mandrupkar said the new calendar aims to bring structured and proactive communication across all departments, ensuring better coordination and consistent information flow. She noted that PR plays a key role in building a strong institutional image and improving stakeholder communication.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri P. E. Edwin highlighted that effective communication enhances transparency and public trust while also showcasing the contributions of railway staff.

He encouraged all departments to actively contribute quality content on a regular basis. The Annual PR Calendar includes planned monthly and weekly activities focusing on safety, punctuality, passenger amenities, innovations, and human-interest stories. Departments such as Commercial, Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Safety, and Operations will provide regular updates. The initiative is expected to improve public outreach, ensure systematic publicity, and enhance the visibility of the division’s achievements.
