South Central Railway Women's Welfare Organisation Conducts Hydration Drive at Vijayawada Railway Station

South Central Railway Women's Welfare Organisation distributed buttermilk packets at Vijayawada Railway Station to help passengers stay hydrated during summer.

As part of its summer welfare initiatives, the South Central Railway Women's Welfare Organisation (SCRWWO), Vijayawada Division, organized a Hydration Drive-2026 at Vijayawada Railway Station on Sunday to support passengers and railway staff during the peak summer season. The programme was conducted at Platform No.1 in connection with the arrival of Coromandel Express.

 During the drive, nearly 1,000 buttermilk packets were distributed to railway passengers, waiting hall commuters, auto drivers, and the public near the clock tower area to help them stay hydrated amid rising temperatures. Around 20 Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers actively participated in the programme and assisted in the smooth distribution of buttermilk packets.

 The initiative also focused on creating awareness about dehydration prevention and healthy summer practices. Speaking on the occasion, SCRWWO President Smt. Versha Sonakiya said the initiative was aimed at spreading awareness on the importance of hydration while extending support to passengers and frontline workers during extreme summer conditions. SCRWWO Secretary Smt. Niharika, Joint Secretary Smt. Gnana Prasuna, Vijayawada Division Public Relations Officer Ms. Nusrat M. Mandrupkar, along with other executive members, participated in the programme. Passengers and visitors appreciated the initiative, which reflected SCRWWO’s continued commitment towards public welfare and social service activities.
