Marking a historic milestone in Indian Railways, the newly formed (SCoR), headquartered in , officially commenced operations on June 1. On the occasion, General Manager welcomed officers and staff joining the new zone and stated that its formation would enhance administrative efficiency, strengthen operational effectiveness, and improve passenger and freight services across the region.
As part of the inaugural proceedings, the South Coast Railway system map was unveiled, highlighting the jurisdiction and network of the new zone. The General Manager also chaired a comprehensive Safety Review Meeting, emphasizing that safety would remain the highest priority and guiding principle of the zone.
Divisional Railway Managers, Principal Heads of Departments, and senior officials reviewed key issues including operational safety, infrastructure maintenance, asset and human resource management, safety audits, accident prevention measures, and crew counselling. Reaffirming their commitment to safe, reliable, and customer-centric railway services, officials expressed confidence that South Coast Railway would emerge as one of the country’s most efficient and progressive railway zones, driving improved connectivity, enhanced services, and sustained regional development.
