As per the directives of Andhra Pradesh Endowments Department Commissioner Sri K. Ramachandra Mohan, the "Yogandhra" special yoga training program was grandly inaugurated at Indrakeeladri Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple on Sunday morning. The program was conducted in the Maha Mandapam on the sixth floor from 7 AM to 8 AM. On the first day of training, under the guidance of prominent yoga instructor Sri Garre Rajesh, practical training was provided to the temple staff, priests, and a large number of devotees present, offering a comprehensive understanding of yoga postures, pranayama, and meditation techniques.
In this innovative program, the Chairman of the temple's Board of Trustees, Sri Borra Radhakrishna (Gandhi), personally participated and performed yoga postures along with the staff. On this occasion, he mentioned that there is an inseparable relationship between temples, which are sanctuaries for mental peace, and the practice of yoga that calms the mind. He stated that yoga improves physical and mental health. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, he called for locals and devotees to participate in this free yoga program held every morning at the temple until June 21, making it a success. The inaugural event of 'Yogandhra' was attended by the temple's Deputy Executive Officer Sri Kishore Kumar, Board of Trustees members Sri Avvaru Srinivas Rao, Sri Penumatsa Raghavarao, special invitees Sri Velagapudi Shankar Babu, and temple officials and staff.
Free prasadam and drinking water were distributed to all the devotees present at the event on behalf of the temple.
