The crew of Train No. 16031 displayed exceptional alertness and teamwork by rescuing a passenger who accidentally fell from the moving train, ensuring he received timely medical assistance.
The incident occurred after an Alarm Chain Pulling (ACP) alert was received while the train was en route. Acting swiftly, the crew stopped the train and, after learning that a male passenger had fallen onto the track, safely reversed the train by about 300 metres following all prescribed safety procedures. The injured passenger, who was found conscious, was brought onboard by Loco Pilot V. Subba Rao, Co-Loco Pilot L.V. Gopal, and Train Manager K. Sampath Kumar.
The crew provided immediate first aid and monitored his condition until the train reached Tenali Railway Station, where he was handed over to railway authorities for medical treatment. The South Coast Railway, Vijayawada Division, commended the crew for their prompt response, professionalism, and presence of mind, stating that their timely action helped prevent a more serious outcome. Railway authorities also appealed to passengers to avoid unsafe practices such as footboard travel and boarding or alighting from moving trains, stressing that following safety rules is essential for a safe journey.
