The process of filling 342 religious posts, including vacant positions for Vedic reciters, priests, attendants, bhajans singers, and cooks in major temples across the state, has commenced under the Andhra Pradesh Endowments Department, as stated by Endowments Department Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan. He revealed that the notification has already been issued, applications have been received, and after completing the review, hall tickets have been issued, with the first phase of oral examinations for Vedic reciters now underway.
Speaking to the media at the Madapati Guest House in Vijayawada, he mentioned that the government is implementing a centralized examination system to completely fill the vacant Vedic staff positions in temples across the state as per the Chief Minister's directives. He noted that over 5,000 candidates have applied for the 342 posts statewide.
He stated that oral examinations are being conducted until the 16th of this month in Vijayawada for Multi Zone-1 candidates from Srikakulam to Krishna district, and in Seethanagaram for Multi Zone-2 candidates from Guntur to Rayalaseema.
He emphasized that all examinations are being conducted transparently with video recording, and that a merit list will be prepared based on qualifications, Vedic qualifications, experience, and performance in the oral examination for appointments.
The Commissioner revealed that after the selection of Vedic reciters is completed, the posts of priests, attendants, bhajans singers, and others will also be filled in phases.
