The Vijayawada Division of South Coast Railway held its Divisional Official Language Implementation Committee (DOLIC) meeting on 2 July under the chairmanship of Divisional Railway Manager Mohit Sonakiya.
During the meeting, the quarterly Official Language e-magazine Vijayarath was unveiled. Addressing the gathering, Mohit Sonakiya said that effective implementation of the Official Language Policy is a shared responsibility of all Central Government offices.
He urged officials to increase the use of Hindi in routine noting, correspondence and inspection reports, particularly in view of the forthcoming Parliamentary Committee inspection. He also commended the Rajbhasha Department and all divisions for their consistent efforts in promoting the progressive use of Hindi. Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) P. E. Edwin announced that Vijayawada Division had significantly exceeded its Official Language targets, achieving 87.87% Hindi noting against the prescribed 35% target and 88% Hindi correspondence replies against the 60% benchmark.
Senior Rajbhasha Adhikari Hemant Wadekar reviewed the Division's quarterly progress, including Hindi workshops, seminars and staff training programmes. The meeting concluded with participation from senior railway officials, branch officers and committee members.
