Nellore, July 5:
Nellore District Collector Himanshu Shukla has directed all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) involved in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll to discharge their duties with utmost vigilance, warning that strict action will be taken against officials found negligent. During an inspection in Vengal Rao Nagar on Podalakur Road in Nellore city, the Collector reviewed the ongoing house-to-house survey, including the distribution and collection of enumeration forms, verification of voter details, registration of new voters, and other election-related activities.
The Collector instructed BLOs to carry out the electoral roll revision in a transparent and impartial manner, strictly following the Election Commission of India's guidelines. He stressed that every eligible citizen must be included in the electoral roll, directed officials to promptly process voter applications, and urged them to provide necessary assistance to the public while creating awareness about the revision programme to encourage greater participation. Revenue Divisional Officer Anusha and Revenue Department officials accompanied the Collector during the inspection.
