The Surya Upasana Seva was conducted with great devotion at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri on Sunday, praying for the welfare of devotees and universal well-being.
Temple Vedic scholars performed the rituals as per tradition, reciting the Aruna Parayanam, Mahasoura Parayanam, and Surya Ashtottara Shatanamavali, followed by special prayers to Lord Surya. Priests said that Surya worship is believed to bring good health, vitality, and mental peace, with Sundays holding special significance for the ritual. Following the ceremony, special harathi was offered to Goddess Kanaka Durga, and theertham and prasadam were distributed to devotees.
The temple made special arrangements to manage the Sunday rush and advised devotees wishing to participate in Surya Upasana Seva to book tickets in advance through the temple's official Mana Mithra WhatsApp service or at the temple ticket counters. The spiritual event was attended by temple officials, priests, and a large number of devotees.
