The Srisailam Temple has begun extensive preparations for the Shakambari Festival, which will be celebrated on 29 July to mark Ashada Purnima.
Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao chaired a preparatory meeting with temple priests, Vedic scholars and department heads to review the arrangements. The EO directed officials to ensure all rituals and ceremonial services are conducted in accordance with tradition. Around 40 varieties of leafy greens, vegetables and fruits will be used to decorate Goddess Bhramaramba as part of the Shakambari Alankaram.
The temple premises and Alankara Mandapam will also be adorned with fresh produce, while special decorations and rituals will be performed for Rajarajeshwari Devi and Ankalamma. To facilitate devotees, the temple will strengthen queue management and darshan arrangements, with Kumkumarchana bookings suspended on the festival day due to the expected heavy footfall. A special Kadambam Prasadam, prepared with a variety of vegetables, will also be distributed to devotees during the celebrations.
