Marking the auspicious Ashada Purnima, the Srisailam Devasthanam conducted the revered Shakambari Utsavam for Goddess Sri Bhramaramba Devi on July 29, 2026.
The presiding deity, Utsava idols, Rajarajeshwari Devi, Annapurna Devi and Grama Devata Ankallamma were adorned with thousands of kilograms of fresh vegetables, leafy greens and fruits.
More than 9,000 kg of vegetables, 200 pumpkins, over 4,000 lemons, 1,200 bundles of leafy greens and a wide range of fruits were used to decorate the temple premises. Vedic scholars chanted sacred hymns while priests performed special rituals seeking timely rains, bumper harvests, prosperity and the well-being of the nation.
The festival commemorates Goddess Shakambari’s divine intervention in ending famine and restoring abundance. Temple Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu, Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao, Trust Board members, archakas, Vedic scholars, officials and devotees participated in the celebrations
