South Coast Railway records strong start in first two months

South Coast Railway gets off to a cracking start, boosting safety, infrastructure, passenger services and earnings across Andhra Pradesh.

South Coast Railway operational since June 1, 2026, has made a strong start with major progress in safety, infrastructure, passenger services and operational efficiency.

The new zone covers four divisions spanning 3,532 route kilometres and 6,455 track kilometres. Projects worth ₹54,479 crore are currently under execution, while ₹70,865 crore worth of works are in the pipeline. Nearly 1,700 route kilometres have been inspected for safety.

 The zone has also upgraded passenger services, operated 76 special trains and attached 408 additional coaches.

SCoR recorded ₹2,493 crore in originating earnings, including ₹671 crore from passenger revenue, during its initial two months.
