Srisailam Temple to observe Arudrotsavam on August 10

Srisailam Temple gears up for sacred Arudrotsavam, with special rituals, prayers and no golden chariot street procession this year.

AP/SOUTH

Srisailam Devasthanam is gearing up to observe Arudrotsavam on August 10, marking the auspicious Arudra Nakshatram. Special Vedic rituals and prayers will be performed for Sri Swamy and Ammavaru in the early hours, followed by ceremonial worship of the deities seated on the golden chariot. Before the rituals, temple priests will recite a sankalpam seeking the welfare and prosperity of all. As the Devasthanam is conducting Varuna Yagam along with Sahasra Ghatabhishekam from August 7 to 11, praying for timely rains, a healthy harvest and a flourishing state, the usual golden chariot procession through the temple streets will not be held this year. Devotees are requested to take note of the revised arrangements and plan their visit accordingly.
