Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Temple to Unveil ₹52.50 Crore Annadanam, Mahaprasadam Facilities on August 21

Vijayawada’s Indrakeeladri Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam is all set to inaugurate two major facilities for devotees on August 21, 2026. Built at a total cost of ₹52.50 crore, the Sri Kanaka Durga Annadanam Sadanam and Sri Durga Bhavani Mahaprasadam Bhavan (Laddu Pottu) will be formally opened at 11:32 AM by state ministers and public representatives. The Annadanam Sadanam, built at a cost of ₹26 crore, can accommodate 800 devotees at a time and includes modern dining, kitchen preparation, storage and washroom facilities. The ₹26.50-crore Mahaprasadam Bhavan will house prasadam counters and facilities for the preparation, packing and storage of laddus, pulihora and sakkara pongali. The temple authorities said advanced mechanised kitchens will also be introduced shortly to ensure better hygiene, consistent quality and faster food preparation. All arrangements for the August 21 inauguration are being completed, officials said.
