Safety Measures Stepped Up at Indrakeeladri Ghat Road Ahead of Dasara Festivities

Officials review landslide-hit Ghat Road, prioritising pilgrim safety and long-term safeguards before Vijayawada’s major Dasara celebrations.

Andhra Pradesh Endowments Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan inspected the Indrakeeladri Ghat Road and reviewed safety arrangements ahead of the upcoming Dasara festivities. The inspection focused on areas affected by recent heavy rains and landslides, with officials briefing the Commissioner on ongoing protective works. He directed authorities to treat devotees’ safety as the top priority and immediately implement the recommendations of the field-level inspection committee.

Alongside temporary safeguards, he called for lasting measures to prevent further landslides and strengthen the route’s resilience. The Commissioner also instructed the temple authorities to submit a comprehensive compliance report once the prescribed safety works are completed. Engineering officials of the temple administration took part in the inspection.
