A significant development has occurred once again regarding the state capital issue. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu introduced a key resolution in the assembly on Saturday, urging for Amaravati to be granted statutory status. The Chief Minister expressed the opinion that a clear and stable decision is necessary, recognizing Amaravati as the sole capital for the comprehensive development of the state.
He noted that if uncertainty continues regarding the capital, development will be adversely affected. The Chief Minister urged that protective measures necessary for the capital be taken, and that the central government should take immediate action to instill confidence in investors. He also mentioned in the resolution that amendments to Section 5(2) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 could bring clarity and stability to the capital issue. The Chief Minister clarified that this resolution would lead the government towards establishing Amaravati as the permanent capital. He stated that this is a crucial decision for the future of the state.
