A tragic incident at the Sita Mata Temple in Nalanda claimed the lives of at least 10 devotees on Tuesday, after a sudden surge in crowd led to chaos within the temple premises. According to initial reports, a large number of devotees had gathered at the temple for special prayers, resulting in overcrowding.

The situation reportedly spiraled out of control when panic broke out among the crowd, triggering a stampede-like situation. Several others sustained injuries in the incident and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

 Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of injured but stated that rescue and relief operations were carried out swiftly. Local administration and police officials reached the spot immediately after the incident and brought the situation under control.

 An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the mishap and to assess whether adequate crowd management measures were in place. Senior officials expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured that necessary steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
