Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, will temporarily suspend all flight operations for six hours on May 7, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, to carry out essential pre-monsoon runway maintenance work.

During this period, both runways will remain closed as technical teams conduct inspection, repair, and safety checks ahead of the monsoon season. The maintenance is part of the airport’s annual preparedness plan to ensure safe aircraft operations during heavy rains.

Airport authorities have already informed airlines in advance, and flight schedules have been adjusted to minimize passenger inconvenience. Travelers are advised to confirm timings with airlines before departure.

Officials stated that the maintenance is crucial to ensure safe aircraft operations during heavy rainfall conditions, which typically impact Mumbai aviation traffic every monsoon.
