A fire broke out at Vitthal Hotel in the Civil Lines area of Prayagraj on Monday, triggering a swift response from fire and police personnel. Authorities confirmed that all 12 people trapped inside the building were rescued safely.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manish Shandilya said police received information about the blaze and immediately rushed to the spot.
“A fire broke out at a hotel in Civil Lines. No injuries have been reported. Police are controlling the crowd while rescue operations were carried out. The fire is almost under control,” he said.
More than five fire tenders were deployed to douse the flames, and firefighters worked for several hours to bring the situation under control.
Officials said no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation has been launched.
The incident caused panic in the busy Civil Lines area, but prompt action by emergency services prevented a major tragedy.
