Pyongyang, June 23:
North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un has made it clear that the country will fully utilize its nuclear weapons status. He stated that in the face of increasingly uncertain and complex global security conditions, nuclear capabilities are the primary basis for national security.
Speaking at a meeting of the ruling Workers' Party Central Committee, Kim accused the actions of the United States and South Korea of escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula. He asserted that there is no alternative but to further strengthen nuclear power in this situation.
According to the state news agency KCNA, Kim has ordered the modernization of conventional armed forces alongside nuclear capabilities. It is noteworthy that North Korea recently inaugurated a new nuclear fuel production facility and announced its goal to rapidly expand its nuclear stockpile.
Despite ongoing international sanctions and diplomatic pressures, North Korea continues to assert itself as a nuclear state and is moving forward in that direction. Analysts suggest that Pyongyang has once again sent a signal to the world that it is no longer prepared for nuclear disarmament talks.
