New Delhi: A day after violent clashes with police during a march towards Parliament, leaders of the youth-led "Cockroach" movement announced that their anti-government protest will continue, but said they will not organize another march to Parliament for now.
Protesters gathered near Parliament on Tuesday, reaffirming their commitment to the agitation while accusing authorities of using excessive force against demonstrators during the previous day's confrontation. According to the movement, several supporters were injured in the clashes as police attempted to stop the march.
The protest, driven largely by students and young activists, has gained national attention amid demands for accountability over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 examination irregularities and calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Security remained tight in central Delhi as authorities maintained a heavy deployment around Parliament and other sensitive locations. Protest organizers said they would continue their campaign through peaceful demonstrations and public outreach while deciding their next course of action.
