New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has rejected claims that the Abhijeet Dipke-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which is at the forefront of student protests across India, is receiving foreign funding.
During a media briefing on Friday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded to questions on the issue, stating that the ministry had "no information to share" regarding the allegations.
The remarks come as student demonstrations continue at Delhi's Jantar Mantar and several other cities, with protesters demanding action over alleged examination paper leaks and broader reforms in the education and recruitment systems.
Speculation over the source of funding for the protests has intensified in recent days, prompting questions to the Centre. However, the MEA declined to comment beyond its brief response and did not indicate that it possessed any evidence related to the allegations.
The protests remain ongoing, with student groups maintaining pressure on the government over their demands for transparency, accountability and reforms in the examination process.
