At least 30 people, including children, were killed when armed attackers stormed a village in Nigeria's Kaduna State during the night. The assailants reportedly opened fire on residents and set several houses on fire, forcing many families to flee.

Local residents said the attack took place while people were asleep, leaving little chance to escape. Several others were injured, and authorities are still searching for missing villagers as rescue efforts continue.

Security officials have launched an investigation and deployed additional personnel to the area. Although no group has claimed responsibility, the attack bears similarities to previous assaults blamed on armed criminal gangs operating in northwestern Nigeria.

The latest violence has renewed concerns over security in rural communities, where repeated attacks and kidnappings continue despite ongoing military operations.
