New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued a crucial warning to bank account holders. In light of the bank unions calling for a three-day strike from September 28 to 30 across the country, PNB has advised customers to complete important banking transactions through branches by September 25.

PNB stated that there is a possibility of disruption to branch services between September 28 and 30 due to the bank strike. Customers are advised to complete cash transactions, cheque processing, and other branch-related tasks in advance.

However, the bank mentioned that measures will be taken to ensure that ATM, mobile banking, internet banking, UPI, and business correspondent services remain available. Nevertheless, as there may be disruptions in digital services depending on the circumstances, it is advisable to complete urgent transactions in advance.

This three-day strike is primarily due to the demand for the implementation of a five-day banking week. The Ministry of Finance has highlighted the significance of September 30, as it marks the half-yearly closing for banks.

Meanwhile, the central government has urged bank employee unions to call off the strike and has requested that issues be resolved through discussions. However, the proposal for the strike from September 28 to 30 is still ongoing. Therefore, banks are advising customers to take precautions and complete branch-related tasks by September 25.
