England captain Harry Brook has reached a career-best fourth position in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings after a stunning home series against Sri Lanka. Brook scored an unbeaten 114 in Southampton and finished the three-match series with 170 runs, earning Player of the Series honours as England completed a 3-0 sweep. Brook has also risen three places to 12th in the ODI rankings, putting him within reach of a rare top-10 position across all three formats. England teammate Jos Buttler has also surged, moving up two places to fifth after contributing 172 runs in the series.
The bowling rankings have witnessed a major change, with Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed becoming the new No.1 T20I bowler. He replaces Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who slipped one rating point behind Abrar’s 736. Rashid’s six-month reign at the top has ended, while Abrar becomes only the fifth Pakistani bowler to reach No.1 after Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi.
England’s Jamie Overton emerged as one of the biggest movers, jumping 47 places to a career-best sixth in the T20I bowling rankings after taking five wickets against Sri Lanka. Liam Dawson climbed to 11th, while India’s Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi moved to 15th and 35th respectively. England’s Will Jacks also climbed to third among T20I all-rounders.
The latest ODI rankings also brought notable movements. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza rose five places to 24th after scores of 45 and 81 not out against Australia, while Josh Inglis and Craig Ervine also improved their positions. Australia’s Nathan Ellis reached a career-best 17th among ODI bowlers after nine wickets in Zimbabwe, while Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando jumped from 39th to 30th following his three-wicket haul against England.
