Hyderabad: HCA Secretary Jeevan Reddy announced that the Uppal Stadium is being prepared for the T20 match between India and West Indies scheduled to take place on October 14 in Hyderabad. He revealed that several issues were discussed during the recent BCCI annual general meeting.
He stated that all electrical issues in the stadium have been resolved and that special preparations are being made with the ground staff and other personnel for the match. He also mentioned that 2,000 students from government high schools will be provided with free tickets this time.
The HCA has also focused on the water logging issue in the Uppal Stadium outfield. Jeevan Reddy stated that experts have suggested changing the drainage system. He clarified that steps will be taken to resolve all issues in the stadium by next year.
He mentioned that the grounds in Mahbubnagar and Karimnagar are ready and that it has been decided to start two cricket academies there along with providing necessary infrastructure facilities. He revealed that work will begin once land allocations for the construction of new stadiums are made. He indicated that the BCCI will assist states in constructing new stadiums.
