Is there a conspiracy to remove 20 crore votes? Revanth Reddy makes sensational allegations against SIR!

Revanth Reddy has made sensational allegations against SIR. He claimed that there is a conspiracy to remove the names of 200 million voters across the country and called for the "SIR Go Back" movement.

Breaking News

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made sensational allegations regarding the Special Comprehensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. He claimed that there is a conspiracy to remove the names of millions of voters across the country.

He noted that this number could reach 200 million by the time of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. According to Revanth Reddy's allegations, approximately 130 million voters' names have already been removed from draft voter lists in various states and union territories. He strongly questioned this process, stating that the system meant to protect the right to vote should not be the reason for the removal of voters.

“By 2029, it could reach 200 million”

Revanth Reddy alleged that there are political motives behind the voter list revision taking place under the name of SIR. He mentioned that there is an attempt to remove a large number of voters' names before the 2029 elections, which could adversely affect the democratic process.

“Doubts on ECI's role”

Revanth Reddy also made severe comments on the Election Commission's conduct. Comparing the ECI's approach to the Simon Commission from the British era, he called for a nationwide “SIR Go Back” movement. He expressed his political dissent by recalling the slogan “Simon Go Back” that was heard during the freedom struggle.

Intense opposition from opposition parties has led to a political controversy across the country regarding SIR. Reports have emerged that over 130 million names have been removed from draft voter lists, with official sources stating that the removals include deceased voters, duplicate names, and other categories. Meanwhile, opposition parties are raising the question of whether there are eligible voters among those removed.

Reports based on officials' details indicate that 7.339 million voters' names have already been removed from the SIR draft list in Telangana alone. Revanth Reddy had previously urged the Election Commission to take measures to ensure that eligible voters' names are not mistakenly removed.

This political battle surrounding SIR is leading to a significant discussion on voting rights and voter lists across the country ahead of the 2029 elections.
