Russia, October 7: A drone attack from Ukraine on the Black Sea coast of Russia has caused significant alarm. The drone strike targeted the Aframax Rio oil tanker, which was sailing under the Liberian flag, resulting in a sudden outbreak of massive flames on the vessel.
At the time of the attack, there were 23 Indian crew members on board the tanker. As soon as the incident was detected, Russian emergency services personnel sprang into action and safely evacuated all of them. The Russian transport department confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
The flames surged dramatically as crude oil on the ship caught fire. Thick black smoke enveloped the area, creating severe anxiety along the coastline. As a result of the incident, authorities temporarily closed several beaches near Sochi.
In the context of increasing drone attacks in the Black Sea, this incident has once again raised questions about Russia's coastal security. Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack on the oil tanker. More details are expected to emerge regarding the motives behind the attack, the damage to the vessel, and the environmental impact.
