The Srisailam Temple is continuing its program to provide free touch darshan for Chencha tribal devotees once a month. This special darshan scheme was initiated during the Mukkoṭi Ekādaśi in the past, and currently, this facility is being offered to Chencha devotees on the last Wednesday of every month.

In this context, on March 25, 2026, Chencha tribal devotees received free touch darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy. At the same time, they also had the opportunity to visit Goddess Bhramaramba. Officials stated that free accommodation, snacks, and meal facilities were provided to the Chencha tribals who came from other regions on behalf of the temple. After the darshan, prasad was also distributed to all devotees at the Annapurna Prasada Vitharana Bhavan. On that morning, the Chencha tribal devotees arrived at the temple in a devotional atmosphere with traditional Chencha dances and musical instruments. Temple officials warmly welcomed them at the Umara Malinageswara Swamy temple. On this occasion, the President of the Board of Trustees, Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu, mentioned that after they took over their responsibilities, when they visited the local Mekalabanda Chencha Gudem, the Chencha devotees requested to provide them with touch darshan of the deity. He stated that in response to that request, a resolution was passed in the Board of Trustees meeting to offer this special free darshan once a month. The Executive Officer also mentioned that the Chencha tribals have a spiritual bond, considering Goddess Bhramaramba as their daughter and Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy as their son-in-law. He noted that special importance is given to Chencha traditional dances during temple festivals, especially during village festivals. Officials revealed that the Chencha devotees were specifically invited to the divine Kalyana Mahotsavam during the recently held Sankranti Brahmotsav. They also mentioned that local ITDA project officers are being consulted in the selection of devotees for the free touch darshan.
