DEHRADUN, July 4:
In the wake of the controversy surrounding alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the spotlight has now shifted to Badrinath Dham. The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has ordered an official inquiry into allegations of irregularities involving devotees' offerings at the revered Himalayan shrine.
The decision comes after complaints surfaced claiming possible discrepancies in the handling and accounting of donations made by pilgrims. While no wrongdoing has been established, the committee has initiated the probe to verify the claims and ensure complete transparency.
BKTC officials said the investigation will examine the collection, storage, and accounting of temple offerings. The committee has assured devotees that appropriate action will be taken if any financial irregularities are found.
The development comes at a time when concerns over the management of donations at major religious institutions have intensified, with recent allegations related to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya triggering nationwide attention.
The inquiry is expected to determine whether temple funds were handled according to prescribed procedures or if corrective measures are required. Authorities have urged the public to await the findings of the investigation rather than draw premature conclusions.
