Washington | May 20:
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that military action against Iran could take place within days if ongoing nuclear negotiations collapse without an agreement.
Trump stated that the United States has paused planned strikes to allow diplomatic efforts to continue, but emphasized that patience is running out. He said Iran must agree to strict conditions aimed at preventing any possibility of developing nuclear weapons
. According to Trump, “all options remain on the table” if Tehran fails to comply with international demands. He also reiterated that Washington will not accept a nuclear-armed Iran under any circumstances.
The warning comes at a time of rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran, with diplomatic channels reportedly under pressure due to disagreements over uranium enrichment limits, sanctions relief, and regional security guarantees.
Iranian officials have responded by rejecting threats, warning that any military action would be met with a strong counter-response. They maintain that their nuclear program is peaceful and within their sovereign rights.
The situation has triggered global concern, with analysts cautioning that any escalation could destabilize the Middle East and impact global energy markets, especially oil shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.
