China Warns Against Foreign Interference in Taiwan Issue

China has warned against foreign involvement in Taiwan, saying any interference could escalate regional tensions and threaten security across the Indo-Pacific.

Beijing, May 31: China has issued a stern warning over the Taiwan issue, stating that any challenge to its claimed sovereignty over the island could trigger a broader regional security crisis. Chinese officials said foreign military involvement in a Taiwan-related conflict would face a strong response from Beijing.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Taiwan Strait and increasing military activity in the Indo-Pacific region. China reiterated that Taiwan is a core national interest and warned external powers against interfering in what it describes as its internal affairs.

The statement is expected to further intensify geopolitical tensions as the United States and its allies continue to strengthen security cooperation across the region. Analysts say the latest warning underscores Beijing’s determination to assert its position on Taiwan while raising concerns about regional stability.
