Trump Warns of 100% Tariffs Over Digital Tax on U.S. Tech Firms

Trump warns countries imposing Digital Services Taxes on U.S. tech firms could face 100% tariffs on exports to America, raising the prospect of fresh global trade tensions.

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that countries introducing Digital Services Taxes aimed at major American technology companies could face a 100% tariff on goods exported to the United States.

The statement comes as several European countries consider or advance plans to levy taxes on the revenues of large digital platforms, including Google, Apple and Amazon.

Trump said the United States would respond with steep trade measures against any nation that imposes what his administration views as discriminatory taxes on U.S.-based technology companies.

The warning signals a potential escalation in trade tensions between Washington and its European partners, with businesses closely watching for any retaliatory measures that could affect global commerce
