Washington: The United States is marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with solemn ceremonies, memorial events and tributes across the country
. Families of the victims, survivors, public officials and members of the public are gathering at memorial sites to remember the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks.
The anniversary is being observed with moments of silence, commemorative ceremonies and tributes honoring those killed in New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.
