Hyderabad is reeling under an intense heatwave as soaring temperatures continue to make life miserable across the city. Amid the scorching conditions, a fire scare at the famous Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park, popularly known as KBR Park, sparked panic among morning walkers and nearby residents.
The incident reportedly took place near the park’s walkway area after dry leaves caught fire, sending smoke billowing across the surroundings. With the city already battling extreme summer heat, the sudden blaze created chaos and fear in one of Hyderabad’s busiest green zones.
Locals alleged that piles of dried leaves and poor maintenance turned the area into a fire hazard during peak summer conditions. Fortunately, alert staff members acted quickly and managed to control the flames before the situation could spiral into a major disaster.
As Hyderabad continues to bake under relentless temperatures, citizens are raising serious concerns over fire safety and the lack of preventive measures in public parks and green spaces. Environmental activists have also warned that rising heat and dry conditions could lead to more such incidents if authorities fail to act immediately
