A brief scuffle broke out between Congress leaders during an SIR review meeting at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad over seating arrangements, leading to disruption before the situation was quickly resolved and leaders reconciled
. A routine Congress review meeting on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad turned tense on Wednesday after a sudden altercation broke out between party leaders over a seating arrangement.
The meeting, attended by Telangana In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, government advisor Balmoor Venkat, Addanki Dayakar, and MP Anil Kumar Yadav, initially proceeded as planned. However, tensions escalated when a dispute arose over who should occupy a seat next to Minister Azharuddin.
The disagreement reportedly triggered a verbal exchange between party leaders Feroz Khan and Usman Al Hajri, which quickly intensified into a brief physical scuffle. Despite attempts by senior leaders and ministers to calm the situation, the confrontation temporarily disrupted the proceedings
. As the situation worsened, the meeting was abruptly concluded to prevent further escalation. Party insiders described the incident as an “unexpected disruption” in an otherwise scheduled organizational review..Interestingly, shortly after the incident, both leaders were seen reconciling and engaging in a friendly conversation. Usman Al Hajri later downplayed the issue, calling it a “minor misunderstanding between brothers” and confirmed that he had apologized to Feroz Khan. Feroz Khan also echoed similar sentiments, stating that the clash was over a trivial issue and emphasized that Usman Al Hajri is like an elder brother to him.
The quick reconciliation helped defuse tensions within the party camp. Reacting to the incident, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar termed it a “small misunderstanding” and asserted that both leaders remain committed to the party’s ideology and work together in coordination
