Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy met Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand and submitted a representation seeking the establishment of a separate police station for Ramanthapur Division in the Uppal constituency. The MLA stated that nearly one lakh people reside in Ramanthapur Division, which currently falls under the jurisdiction of the Uppal and Osmania University police stations, creating challenges in delivering efficient policing. He also requested that the Habsiguda area be brought under the proposed Ramanthapur Police Station's jurisdiction. He pointed out that the division's expanding population, large geographical area, increasing drug-related activities and the need to curb anti-social elements have made a dedicated police station essential. According to the MLA, a separate police station would strengthen crime prevention, improve surveillance and ensure faster and more effective policing for local residents. Bandari Lakshma Reddy urged the DGP to consider the proposal positively in the interest of public safety and approve the new Ramanthapur Police Station at the earliest.
