SCR General Manager Reviews Monsoon Preparedness, Stresses Rail Safety

SCR strengthens monsoon safety with comprehensive preparedness measures, ensuring safer train operations, enhanced monitoring and improved passenger service reliability.

Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, to assess monsoon preparedness and operational safety across the zone. Joined by senior officials and Divisional Railway Managers via video conference, he reviewed safety measures at vulnerable tracks, bridges, tunnels and waterlogging-prone Road Under Bridges.

 The General Manager directed officials to ensure continuous monitoring, timely inspections, proper drainage, water pumping arrangements and strict adherence to safety protocols.

He also emphasised regular counselling for loco pilots and train managers to strengthen operational safety. During the meeting, officials were briefed on the Standard Operating Procedure for Solid Waste Management in Indian Railways, covering four-way waste segregation, trackside waste clearance and scientific waste processing to improve environmental sustainability.
