Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, IAS, conducted a detailed site inspection at Yapral Junction and Chandragiri Colony,
directing officials to accelerate development works aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving road safety. Accompanied by senior civic, engineering and town planning officials, the Commissioner reviewed plans to create a free left turn at the junction and examined proposals to relocate a transmission tower, which has been identified as a contributing factor to frequent road accidents.
He instructed officials to explore shifting the tower to a nearby park area after completing the necessary technical assessment.
The Commissioner also reviewed the project's land acquisition requirements, which include 53 affected properties, 6,833.72 square yards of land, the relocation of 57 electricity poles, three transformers and three trees. He directed officials to expedite the land acquisition process through the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) mechanism by engaging with landowners. Further instructions were issued to obtain demand notices and cost estimates for relocating electrical infrastructure, conduct joint inspections with the Electricity Department and fast-track all statutory approvals. Emphasising public safety, the Commissioner directed officials to ensure strict safety measures at construction sites while minimising inconvenience to commuters.
He reaffirmed that the comprehensive redevelopment of Yapral Junction would deliver a safer, smoother and more efficient transport corridor through coordinated efforts by all departments.
