South Central Railway General Manager Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava conducted a high-level Safety Review Meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, focusing on strengthening railway safety and ensuring smooth train operations during the monsoon season.
Senior officials, including Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers from Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Nanded divisions, joined the meeting. The GM directed field teams to step up monsoon patrolling, closely monitor vulnerable track locations, and coordinate with State Government officials regarding water flow issues. Special attention was given to manned level crossing gates, with officials instructed to carry out frequent inspections and ensure staff alertness for the safe movement of commuters. He also reviewed safety measures in AC coaches, including proper linen management and keeping vestibules clear to prevent fire risks.
Officials were further advised to take strict action against unsafe activities like placing metallic objects or construction debris on railway tracks. Emphasising continuous improvement, Shri Srivastava highlighted the need for refresher training programmes to keep railway employees updated with the latest safety practices and operational standards.
