Uncle, two stepbrothers held for rape of 13-year-old girl in Telangana

A 13-year-old Keesara girl was allegedly raped by her uncle and two stepbrothers. Police arrested all three after the case surfaced through her school teacher.

Hyderabad: Keesara police have arrested a girl’s uncle and two stepbrothers in connection with the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in Keesara, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. 

According to police, the abuse came to light after the girl confided in a schoolteacher, who then alerted authorities. The victim was later shifted to the Bharosa centre, where her statement was recorded, and she was sent for medical examination.

A case has been registered under the POCSO Act and Section 65(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya SanhitaPolice said the accused fled after learning they were being searched for, and all three were later traced and arrested from different locations.

The girl had been living with her grandmother after her parents died by suicide a few years ago, officials said.  Police said the investigation is continuing and the accused will be produced before a magistrate
