Malkajgiri civic body steps up field checks on drainage, sanitation and road works

Malkajgiri civic officials are cracking down on rubbish, illegal dumping and parking, while fast-tracking drainage, road repairs and greener public spaces.

A.Vijayenderreddy: Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, IAS, carried out detailed field inspections across HMT Nagar, Devender Nagar and nearby areas, directing officials to tighten sanitation, waste management, greenery and road maintenance.

QR-based attendance for Swachh autos and FRS attendance for sanitation workers were reviewed. Anti-larva operations at HMT Nagar and Errakunta lakes were also checked.

The commissioner ordered action over sewage being discharged onto the main road near Prasad Hospital and called for the GVP to be cleared. At Devender Nagar nala, departments were told to speed up desilting, fencing, C&D waste removal, encroachment clearance and greenery works.

Officials were also directed to tackle illegal dumping, cable obstructions and unauthorised parking, while accelerating pothole repairs and stormwater drainage plans from Amberpet STP to Nagole.
