Hyderabad: A dispute between lawyers and police at the Attapur police station has become a topic of intense discussion. The controversy reportedly began following allegations that packets of gutka were provided to an accused in custody along with a water bottle, according to police.
According to police reports, a verbal altercation occurred with individuals associated with the lawyers present when objections were raised regarding the delivery of gutka packets to the accused. It is said that the police have released CCTV footage related to the incident.
At the same time, lawyers allege that police attempted to seize a phone from one of the lawyers, leading to a scuffle. They claim that a police officer also tried to take the phone from a female lawyer who was recording the incident and acted aggressively towards her. Footage showing the police officer expressing anger by saying "Get out" has further fueled the controversy.
The lawyers have a different perspective. They argue that if they had committed any wrongdoing, legal action could be taken against the individuals based on CCTV evidence, but they question why phones were seized and why there was a physical altercation with lawyers. They are particularly outraged by the attempt of a male police officer to take the phone from a female lawyer.
As a result, this incident at the Attapur police station has now led to discussions framed as "lawyers versus police." What exactly caused the dispute? What does the CCTV footage reveal? What actions will authorities take regarding the behavior of both parties? These questions have now become points of interest.
