Hayden Panettiere Death Shocker: ‘Heroes’ Star Died in Fentanyl Overdose, Coroner Reveals

Hayden Panettiere, 36, died from an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and other drugs, according to a South Carolina coroner’s report released Tuesday.

Hollywood actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her roles in Heroes and Nashville, died from an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and several other drugs, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office has confirmed. 

Panettiere, 36, was found unresponsive at an apartment in Greenville on August 16. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The coroner ruled the manner of death an accident. Toxicology testing found fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine in her system. The coroner attributed her death to the toxic effects of the combination. An autopsy found no contributing trauma.

Her on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach were reportedly at the apartment when Panettiere was found unresponsive.

Authorities had previously said there were no initial indications of foul play, while reporting that the circumstances surrounding her death remained under investigation

 The revelation has sent shockwaves through Hollywood and fans worldwide. Panettiere, who rose to fame as a child and became a major television star, had openly discussed her struggles with addiction and recovery during her lifetime.
