The Hyderabad Cricket Association brought the Sreenidhi University TG20 to a memorable close with a spectacular closing ceremony at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, blending world-class entertainment with Telangana's rich cultural heritage.
Oscar-winning singer Rahul Sipliganj, renowned for the global hit Naatu Naatu, delivered a high-energy live performance before a packed stadium. Vijay Deverakonda, the league's brand ambassador, also attended the ceremony ahead of the final between Hyderabad E-Champions and Anvita Khammam Aces.
The evening commenced with a grand cultural showcase celebrating Telangana's vibrant traditions. The performances featured Kolatam, Lambadi Dance, Bonalu Kolatam, Bathukamma Dance, and the powerful Oggu Dollu, offering spectators a colourful display of the state's rich folk heritage before the championship match. Hyderabad Cricket Association TG20 Governing Council members Jeevan Reddy, Agam Rao and Sanjeev Reddy were among the dignitaries present for the grand finale. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Sipliganj said, "Performing at the Sreenidhi University TG20 has been an incredible experience. I've watched Super Bowl halftime performances where artists perform at the centre of the stadium, and witnessing a similar spectacle in Telangana for the first time is truly special. Performing before a packed crowd is a great honour." Vijay Deverakonda praised the league's success, saying, "TG20 has established itself as the biggest cricket tournament after the IPL. The credit goes to the Hyderabad Cricket Association, our outstanding players and the people of Telangana, whose support has made this possible. I'm proud of what we've achieved throughout the tournament, and it's wonderful to see our state host such a major cricket league.
" The celebrations concluded with a spectacular sound, light and laser show, accompanied by dazzling pyrotechnics during the mid-innings break, providing fans with a world-class entertainment experience. The grand finale perfectly reflected the tournament's successful blend of top-quality cricket and Telangana's cultural pride.
