India’s star opener Shafali Verma has made a major jump in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, climbing two places to No. 4 among batters after producing her maiden T20I century at the Asian Games.
Verma smashed an unbeaten 100 against Bangladesh in the semi-final at Nisshin, following an unbeaten 40 against Japan. Her explosive performances helped India book a place in the Asian Games final.
Pakistan Batters Make Massive Gains
Pakistan’s Shawaal Zulfiqar climbed an impressive 16 places to 29th, entering the top 30 for the first time after scores of 25 and 54. Ayesha Zafar made an even bigger leap, rising 31 places to 40th after hitting 71 against Sri Lanka.
Indian bowlers continue to dominate the rankings, with Shree Charani retaining No. 1 with 799 rating points, while Deepti Sharma remains second. Kranti Gaud and Nandani Sharma also reached career-best rankings after strong Asian Games performances.
South African Stars Shine
South Africa’s 5-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe also produced major ranking movements. Miane Smit surged 63 places to joint-53rd after scoring a century, while Player of the Series Anneke Bosch climbed eight places to 46th after scoring 214 runs.
Zimbabwe’s Nyasha Gwanzura also broke into the top 100, moving up 28 places to 87th in the bowling rankings following an impressive series. The latest rankings underline the impact of the Asian Games and recent bilateral series, with several emerging stars making career-best gains on the global stage.
