CM N. Chandrababu Naidu says blockchain-based land record system will curb fraud, prevent double registrations, and ensure tamper-proof property transactions.

Amaravati, July 23: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday virtually launched the 'Mee Bhoomi-Blockchain' pilot project from the State Secretariat, marking a major step toward digitising and securing land records across the state.

The Revenue Department has developed the blockchain-based system to provide tamper-proof, transparent, and secure land records. Under the new model, every land parcel will receive a unique digital identity, enabling safe property transactions while preventing duplicate registrations and record manipulation.

The project integrates the Revenue, Survey, and Registration departments onto a single digital platform, creating a unified and reliable source of land ownership records.

The system has been developed jointly by NIC Andhra Pradesh and NIC Bengaluru's Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology using Hyperledger Fabric technology.

The pilot project will be implemented in one mandal each across Kurnool, Chittoor, Bapatla, Krishna, East Godavari, Parvathipuram Manyam, and Vizianagaram districts, covering 89 re-survey villages and 1,37,763 land parcels.

Speaking at the launch, Chandrababu Naidu said inaccurate land records have led to property fraud and disputes over valuable land. While Andhra Pradesh has historically witnessed fewer land disputes than neighbouring Telangana, he alleged that policies of the previous government contributed to an increase in land-related conflicts

. The Chief Minister said the government is focusing on cleansing, protecting, and modernising land records through statewide surveys and updated documentation. He noted that several long-pending land disputes in villages such as Shettipalli, Vatticherukuru, Kangundi, and Gutupalli have already been resolved.

Naidu said the blockchain platform would provide permanent security for land records and simplify property transactions by bringing all related departments onto one platform. He directed officials to monitor the pilot project for two months, establish a complaint cell to identify shortcomings, and make improvements before statewide implementation.

He also announced that villages where land surveys have been completed will gradually be brought under the blockchain system, with the government aiming to roll out the Mee Bhoomi-Blockchain platform across Andhra Pradesh from November.
